Henry “Grady” Miles, III
Founder/Owner
Grady graduated Georgia Southern University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and founded M&S Steel, Inc. in 1986. He directs all aspects of company operations including accounting, budgeting, personnel management, long term business and capital planning. Grady works closely with all team members to ensure quality performance and safe work practices. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoys saltwater fishing, farming and spending time with his family.
Torie Watson
Office Manager
Torie began her career with M&S Steel as a work-based learning student in 1992 while in high school. She continued working for the company after graduation and learned bookkeeping skills under the teaching of seasoned accountants and other professional mentors. In 1999 Torie was promoted to Bookkeeper and continued refining her accounting skills. Now as the Office Manager, Torie oversees accounting, billing, budgeting, customer contracts, financial reporting and assists with the day to day operations. She is a caring wife, mother, grandmother and Christian who enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Carrie Cleland
Payroll, Employee Benefits and Accounts Payable
Carrie began her journey with M&S Steel as a Receptionist in 2003. Through her dedication and love for learning she has acquired many new skills. Carrie is currently responsible for Payroll, Employee Benefits and Accounts Payable. She also serves as Administrative Assistant and plays a vital role supporting the Owner, General Manager and EHS Manager. She is a loving wife, mother, grandmother and Christian. Carrie feels blessed to work with such wonderful co-workers.
Teresa Johnson
Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
Teresa joined the M&S Steel team as Environmental, Health & Safety Manager in 2018. She brings with her 28 years working experience from a large sawmill corporation where she served in a dual role as Human Resources/EHS for 25 of those years. In addition to HR and Safety, she has extensive experience and knowledge of various areas of environmental compliance. Teresa’s primary goal is educating M&S Steel employees and ensuring their safety. Teresa is a devoted Christian, wife and mother.
Jesse Smoak
Projects Manager
Jesse’s construction career began in 1997 and he joined the M&S Steel team in 2003 as a carpenter/millwright. Hard work and determination lead to his promotion to Foreman in 2005 and later to Superintendent in 2008. He possesses a variety of skills including millwrighting, precision rotating equipment installation, structural fabrication and installation, pipe fabrication & installation. Jesse also has experience in site prep and sub-grade foundation installation. This combination of expertise and experience provide him with reliable knowledge in project estimating and scheduling. Jesse enjoys hunting, fishing and shooting sports as well as spending time with family.
Tony Sharpe
Superintendent
Tony began his construction career in 1979 and has over forty years of experience. In 1996 Tony brought his skills to M&S Steel as an Ironworker / Welder. In 2003 Tony was promoted to Foreman and quickly excelled to Superintendent in 2005. Throughout his employment with M&S Steel he has become a master craftsman in many disciplines including fabrication, erection, piping, rigging, and heavy equipment operation. He is an avid hunter and enjoys fishing and farming.
